Apparently hurricane Hermine is headed towards the entire East Coast.  That could mean we need to prepare for a soggy Labor Day weekend.  No worries, THE WANNA team put together a list of things to do if you decide to abandon ship and stay in the city this holiday weekend!

Holiday weekends and brunch just go together.  The more carb filled the better right?  Blame it on the rain!  Best way to ease into the weekend is a flavorful booze filled brunch!  It's our picks for FOOD YOU WANNA EAT to kick off a successful city stay-cation!

The Wanna's fav brunch spots include:

Cafe MogodorWilliamsburg - A pioneer in the NYC restaurant world, this spot serves up amazing Moroccan bites and boasts great hipster-watching views.  The weekend brunch is a special price and includes an entree, coffee and juice.  We suggest the Moroccan Eggs and Turkish coffee!

The Crosby Bar & Terrace, Soho - Five star service and decor thanks to Kit Kemp of Firmdale Hotels.  The Crosby Street Hotel surrounds the incredible Bar and Terrace destination.  Traditional English breakfast at it's finest.  The blueberry pancakes are delightful.  Amazing outdoor garden for that second round of mimosas!

Babettes, East Hampton - The only restaurant you need to know out East for Brunch is Babettes.  The business savvy, passionate and soulful owner, Barbara, runs a tight ship for decades.  The menu changes with the seasons and utilizes only the freshest ingredients supporting the local farmers and growers.  Sunday brunch is a celebrity and VIP hot-spot.  But, on any given day of the week, you may catch a glimpse of Spielberg grabbing a smoothie or L.A. Reid dining with his family.  Yet, the celeb factor has nothing to do with the mass appeal of Babettes.  Barbara and team successfully continue to create some of the most healthy, organic yet flavorful dishes that taste sinfully incredible!  It's just really good, clean, organic soul food!  Order the BBQ Tofu, banana smoothie and the Jo Mama, you'll thank us.

Agave, West Village - This is a favorite brunch destination amongst city dwellers.  Go for the food, stay for the bottomless brunch cocktails.

Dockers Waterside Marina & Restaurant, East Quogue, Hamptons – Beautiful bay views accompany upscale surf ‘n’ turf eats at this Hamptons lounge.

Randolph Brookyln, Williamsburg- A laid back vibes, graffitied walls and vintage TVs make this brunch spot a must-try.

Hill and Dale, Lower East Side - Victorian decor and leather sofas add to the old-timey feel of this cozy, yet elegant gastropub.

Miss Lily's 7A Cafe, East Village - Take a trip to the beach in the city at this island-inspired hang.  Enjoy the delicious cocktails and Jamaican fare.

When it rains it pours and pours right?  What better way to spend a rainy day post brunch?  How about reserved seats in your fav movie theater for an afternoon matinee show?  Check out a few of our fav MOVIES YOU WANNA WATCH premiering this holiday weekend listed below!
