VALENTINE'S DAY in the 21st Century...

Valentine's Day.

Each year on February 14th, many people all over the world, exchange cards, candy, gifts or flowers with their special “Valentine.”

The day of romance we call Valentine's Day is named for a Christian martyr and dates back to the 5th century but, has origins in the Roman holiday Lupercalia.

For some people, V-Day is just another "commercial" holiday that ultimately feels more like an obligation, jacks up the cost of roses, chocolate and reminds single people they may end up alone forever?

Well ... not so fast my cynical friends.

In today's tech consumed world, the once simple act of experiencing an in-depth human connection is getting harder and harder to find.

Can you remember what a real human connection is?  Real eye to eye contact.  Heart to heart communication.  Soul to soul exchange.

This real connection takes time.  Dare I say, it takes WORK!   What?  More work?

In today's day and age, if you are fortunate enough to find another person you actually want to see face to face.  No, selfie to selfie does not count!  Your next step is to actually peel yourself away from all modern technology and make a real effort to connect with a person...That means (gasp) you need to put down the phone...wait no, turn off the phone!  Ok.  Baby steps.  How about just turn over the phone?

There is NO denying it...TECH TURNOFF is a serious challenge.

In 2016, Valentines Day has taken on a very different meaning.  The once holiday of professing your love with a bouquet of flowers and chocolates has been trumped just simple human connection.

Moving forward, when it comes to love, the real question you should ask yourself isn't just,  "Do I really like this person?"

The real test for your inner love meter is,  "Can I fathom TECH TURNOFF with this person?"  Do I feel the urge to turn off the phone?  Can I realistically take my mind off the social media rat race and focus on this one person?

Now, when it comes to relationships, the tech turn-off should be a no brainer.  If you and your significant other are finding it hard to turn off (or at least turn away) from the phone to share a meal together and actually connect...If you are finding the "tech turn- off" a serious challenge, then maybe you need to work at the relationship or just simply turn away?

Valentines Day is the perfect opportunity to show your loved ones you care enough to TURN OFF the tech and TURN ON the romance.

Dreaming of warmer weather?  Now is the time to start planning a spring break!  Coachella, the annual music and arts festival held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, may be the perfect spring break getaway.  This year’s festival will take place on April 14-16 and 21-23, and tickets are currently for sale here.

In January, the 2017 Coachella lineup was announced.  The headliners are Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar and Radiohead.  Other big names who will perform include Lorde, Mac Miller, Bon Iver, Future, Hans Zimmer and Gucci Mane.  Check out the rest of the impressive Coachella lineup below:

Beyonce, who is pregnant with twins, must first get her doctor’s approval to perform.  Goldenvoice, the AEG Live subsidiary that produces Coachella, was reportedly unaware of Beyonce’s pregnancy until her recent announcement.  This has caused controversy around Beyonce’s headlining gig, and no official statement has been made yet by Beyonce on whether or not she is permitted to perform.

Another controversial aspect of Coachella 2017 is the scandal surrounding Philip Anschutz, the owner of AEG.  In January, The Washington Post revealed that Anschutz helped fund the Alliance Defending Freedom campaign, an anti-LGBTQ legal group.  Anschutz has also donated to the Family Research Council and the National Christian Foundation, which are strictly pro-life and pro-marriage organizations.  "Freedom for All Americans," an LGBTQ advocacy group has called Anschutz an “enemy of equality."

But despite these issues, as they say in showbiz, "the show must go on!”

If you can’t make the two weekends of Coachella, there are plenty of exciting sideshow performances throughout Los Angeles to attend.  These include performances by, Future Islands, The Avalanches, DJ Shadow, Empire of the Sun, Bonobo and Jamie xx.  The various LA venues include The Observatory, The Glass House and The Regent.  Below is the full list of sideshows:

If you want to spend your spring break partying alongside A-list celebrities, Coachella is definitely the answer.  Several famous faces can be spotted every year at the festival, including: Leonardo DiCaprio, Emma Roberts, Taylor Swift, Alexander Skarsgard, Vanessa Hudgens, Kate Bosworth, Jared Leto, Orlando Bloom, and more.

Find out more about the Coachella festival here and make sure to plan your exciting spring break trip ASAP!

On Sunday, the 59th annual Grammy Awards ceremony aired live on CBS from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.  Beyonce, Adele, and Bruno Mars all performed live.  The evening had several live mishaps including Adele who had a meltdown center stage and pleaded with the audience to let her start over during her tribute performance to the late great George Michael.  Yet, the real train wreck of the night was the collaboration between Metallica and Lady Gaga.  Metallica’s performance was eagerly awaited by fans after the band announced their appearance back in January, saying they had “something very unique and special planned.”

Gaga and Metallica performed Moth Into Flame together, but lead singer James Hetfield’s microphone did not work initially.  Hetfield could be seen mouthing the lyrics, but the audience could not hear his voice.  The audio mishap led Lady Gaga to share her mic with Hetfield, and the two worked hard to make-up for the mishap.  By the song’s second verse, Hetfield’s mic was back in working condition.

Afterwards, Hetfield appeared visibly upset by the audio mess-up and threw his guitar off the stage, where someone on the side managed to catch it.  Twitter user Troy Hughes caught the moment on camera:

Actress and LGBTQ activist, Laverne Cox added to the mayhem when she initially introduced the highly anticipated rock performance and just threw it to Lady Gaga leaving out any mention of Metallica on stage.  Earlier today, Cox tweeted an apology:

Fans were outraged with how Metallica’s Grammys performance played out.  Many took to Twitter to express their disdain at the technical issue and show their support of Metallica.  Fans anticipated how someone would be “getting fired,” and others insisted the Grammys should “get it together.”  THE WANNA has gathered the most entertaining reaction tweets below!

Adele played a concert in Miami, Florida Tuesday night at the American Airlines Arena, where Hillary Clinton made a surprise appearance as an early birthday celebration.  Hillary spent all of Tuesday campaigning in south Florida.  Clinton had a packed schedule including, a Coconut Creek rally, her final Florida fundraiser in Pinecrest, and a stop at Univision’s Studios for an appearance on the El Gordo y la Flaca talk show.  Clinton’s supporters did not forget her birthday while she campaigned, though.  At the Coconut Creek rally, the crowd sang “Happy Birthday” to Hillary.  On the El Gordo y la Flaca talk show, Hillary was offered cookies and tequila shots.  She was also serenaded by singer Prince Royce, who had backup from a mariachi band.  After her special, but busy day, Hillary had the chance to unwind a little on the eve of her 69th birthday.  Hillary’s motorcade made a final stop at the American Airlines Arena, where Hillary attended Adele’s concert.

It’s no secret that Hillary is a huge fan of Adele.  Hillary said that Adele was her, “go-to voice,” in a SiriusXM interview back in March.  Clinton also added, “I have such a huge admiration for her skills, her abilities and her personality.”

Adele returned the compliment at her Tuesday concert when she confidently endorsed Clinton.  Adele took a break from singing to say, “I am 100 percent for Hillary Clinton.  I love her, she’s amazing.”  It has not been confirmed whether or not Adele knew the Democratic nominee was in the audience.  Either way, Adele’s endorsement must have been a lovely birthday present for Hillary.

Adele didn’t stop at her praise of Hillary, though.  The singer took the opportunity to urge concert-goers not to vote for Donald Trump.  Adele said, “I’ve got to be honest with you, I’m really glad I’m not an American at the moment, it’s hard work.”  She continued, “I wouldn’t know what to do, I mean I do know what to do - don't vote for him, that's all I'm saying.”

Looks like Adele is officially on the #ImWithHer bandwagon!

Rumer Willis, the famous daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, is wise beyond her years.  A few years ago, The WANNA hung out with Rumer at the Miami International Film Festival, where she revealed to host Gina Giordan that her parents Bruce and Demi told her, “Stay true to yourself.”  Their parental advice stuck with the now 28-year old actress and singer.  She continues to pass on that wisdom to everyone around her.

Take Rumer’s little sis, Tallulah, for example.  The 22-year old recently posed for several racy photographs and found herself the target of online criticism.  Rumer gave her sister some advice about her own experience in the industry: “There’s always going to be people who don’t like you…There’s always going to be people that do.”  She added, “And if you’re just yourself, you’re going to get people who love you for who you are.”

Last year, Rumer took home the trophy for the 20th season of Dancing with the Stars.  In an interview with Huffington Post, Rumer spoke about her time on DWTS: “I was given the platform to just say, here’s who I am, and just take the time to get to know that.  If you still have your opinion after that, that’s fine.  But just get a chance to figure it out first.”  For Rumer, being true to herself is just second nature.

So what’s next for the talented 28-year old?  Rumer starts her U.S. Cabaret tour, called, “Over the Love,” on October 25th.  The idea to go on a cabaret tour came about when Rumer performed at The Carlyle Hotel in Manhattan back in April.  Rumer dished about her time onstage at The Carlyle: “In a certain way, you're getting to have a conversation with the audience. I think that intimate settings like that, where people are really coming to listen to the music, is incredible. There aren't many spots like that anymore.”  Rumer loved the intimate feel so much, that she decided to tour the U.S. in a cabaret-style show at various small venues.  “Over the Love” involves Rumer telling the audience stories, and performing songs from her favorite artists, such as Etta James, Billie Holiday, and Amy Winehouse.

Interested in seeing this talented lady perform up close and personal?  Check out Rumer’s “Over the Love” Cabaret tour info and dates here.

Another week, another celebrity Twitter feud to report.  In this episode, Lady Gaga threw some serious shade at The Chainsmokers after they dissed her music.

In a recent Rolling Stone interview, The Chainsmokers were asked about Gaga’s single, “Perfect Illusion.”  Member Alex Pall answered, “It sucks.”  He followed up with, "A lot of talented people worked on that song. But...,” scrunching up his nose to show his dislike.

Several days later, Lady Gaga tweeted her comeback:

@ladygaga, Twitter

@ladygaga, Twitter

The Chainsmokers responded to Gaga’s sassy tweet in an interview with NME.  First, they offered to buy her a drink the next time they see her.  Pall then praised Gaga, saying, “She killed that tweet, it was such a response from her. I love banter, and that was such a clever, witty response. 10/10.”  He added: “It was just my opinion, which I thought nobody would give a shit about. She can have that victory, I hope her album does incredibly well.”

Thankfully, The Chainsmokers vs. Lady Gaga feud was pretty short-lived and tame.  We hope she takes them up on that drink offer soon!

Monday, October 17th, Hollywood A-list came out to sing and dance, in hopes to help raise funds for Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign.  The star-studded Clinton fundraiser concert was held at the St. James Theatre in New York City.  Fans that couldn't snag a ticket to the concert tuned into Clinton's YouTube and Facebook pages which streamed the event live!  The night turned into a Hollywood who's, who event with several big time celebs who all said, "I'm with her!" including: Neil Patrick Harris, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Angela Bassett, Billy Crystal, Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway, Julia Roberts, Emily Blunt, Ansel Elgort and Sarah Jessica Parker.

The WANNA voted and delivered the best moments of the night below!  Drum roll please....

Lin-Manuel Miranda Reworks Hamilton Song

Lin-Manuel Miranda, creator and star of hit play Hamilton, rapped about Clinton and the importance of voting in a rewritten version of the song, "The World Was Wide Enough."  One memorable lyric goes, “Anybody here wanna shatter a glass ceiling?”

Neil Patrick Harris reprised his Tony-winning role in “Hedwig and the Angry Inch.”  He sang the song, “The Origin of Love” with a troupe of backup ballet dancers, which presented a beautiful, moving spectacle.

Angela Bassett and Helen Mirren Speeches

Taking a break from all the song and dance, Angela Bassett recited Sojourner Truth’s “Ain’t I A Woman?” speech, while Helen Mirren performed a speech from Elizabeth Roosevelt.  Both A-listers called to mind the strength of women in our country’s past, as a salute to Hillary Clinton in her leadership role today.

Barbara Streisand “Phones In”

Barbara Streisand, one of the greatest singers of our time, lent her voice to the fundraiser, where she made introductions for the concert from Los Angeles.  She also appeared in a video for “Climb Every Mountain,” alongside Jamie Foxx.

And Of Course, Hillary Clinton’s Screen Appearance

Clinton herself could not make the fundraiser, but she did appear on screen in a good-humored segment.  She joked, “I auditioned for tonight's show and I wanted to sing with you, but Harvey and Jordan said I didn't make the cut,” in reference to the event’s producers, Harvey Weinstein and Jordan Roth.  She also said, “We’re in the final stretch of this campaign and we need your help to reach as many people as possible between now and election day.”

Leslie Nuchow

Leslie Nuchow

It's been more than a decade since Brooklyn, singer-songwriter Leslie Nuchow's first album, Tenderland was released. The talented artist put her singing career on hold, when she became a mom.  Nuchow admitted while she was on a self induced hiatus, "I never thought I would find my creative self again."  Nuchow ultimately, did turn to writing once again... Unfortunately, it took a tragic life experience for Nuchow to connect with her creative self, a decade later.  "After my mom passed away, I locked myself in a room for a week and the music just kept pouring out of me."  Ultimately, Leslie's mom passing forced her to reconnect with her creative self.  Nuchow explained to THE WANNA,  "The creative process on this album was very cathartic for me."  Working through the pain actually unleashed an emotional storm inside Nuchow, that ignited a spiritual awakening and evolved into her latest album, Balm for Gilead.

You can experience a slice of Nuchow's spiritual journey live next week!  It will be Nuchow's first live performance in front of an audience in years.  Nuchow will hit centerstage and perform live in NYC at Joe’s PubSaturday, October 8, @ 7 PM.  Celebrate the spiritual rebirth of Nuchow with the release of her new record, Balm for Gilead.  Listen to the full album here

Sweet Cyanide @ Sturgis Buffalo Chip 2015

With a new album hot off the press and some branded merch in tow, NYC indie rock band, SWEET CYANIDE is packing up to head across country and rock out at the 35th annual Buffalo Chip Music Festival with Buckcherry & Pop Evil.

It's an annual tradition for Sal and the boys who have made the trip every summer since 2009.  Lead singer and guitarist, Sal Scoca said, "There is nothing like performing live at the Chip.  Most amazing crowd of people and we all have something in common, we still love rock music!"

Scoca told us there is one part of the trip the band isn't looking forward to, "Traveling across country every summer is always an exciting challenge!  With no fail, whether we fly or take a bus from New York to South Dakota, there's always something that comes up," said Sal.

In 2010, the band made their way out West, performing live, two shows a day for ten days straight.  After their last live performance at the Chip with Def Leppard, they loaded up and headed back east in their RV.  Unfortunately, the band only made it about 200 miles and the RV broke down.  The band and crew were stranded for 3 days with no way to get home.  "It was like that John Candy movie, 'Planes, Trains and Automobiles.'  We had no way to get home.  Our RV was dead."  Eventually, days later, the band was able to hitch rides and fly home safely but Scoca admitted, "No food or bathroom for a few days was harsh."  In 2014, the band thought they learned their lesson and decided to fly across country.  Yet, the day before they were supposed to open at the Chip for Motley Crue and Alice Cooper, their United Airlines flight was delayed and the boys were literally stranded at the Chicago airport overnight.  "We were forced to sleep on the airport floor.  We didn't think we were gonna make it to perform live with Motley.  We actually missed the sound check and literally went from the airport, to the van to the main stage.  That was still a great show."

This year Sweet Cyanide plans to fly again but, this time Sal says, "We plan to arrive a few days before and travel on Delta.  As long as we land safely, that's key."

If you can't make it to Sturgis next week to experience Sweet Cyanide live, you can plan a trip to NYC later this year.  "We plan to announce some upcoming performances in NYC and Brooklyn."

Support INDIE ROCK MUSIC!  Go to iTunes right now and buy Sweet Cyanide's new album, "Songs From The Stardust Road."

Sweet Cyanide's latest music released earlier this month, is a concept album.  Scoca shared, "We hope rock fans will take the time to listen to Stardust Road from start to finish.  It's intended to be a musical experience," says Scoca.  The Wanna's fav tracks on the album include:  "Solitude," "Zero Hour" and "New Illusions."

We wish Sal and the band a safe trip out West and an awesome set of shows this season!

Question is, "How much will it cost to party with 50 Cent?"

General admissions tickets will set you back $50 bucks and include entry into the venue where 50 Cent is set to perform live.

For $2000.00 dollars you and seven of your closest friends will get an actual seat at a table, some where inside the club.

For $5000.00 thousand dollars ($400 per person) you and eleven of your friends will get the ultimate VIP experience which includes a table near 50 Cent, 4 bottles of Effen Vodka and 5 bottles of house champagne.  Proximity almost guarantees an autograph and a few memorable celebrity selfie-shots., Effen Vodka and 50 Cent?  Isn't this exactly the kind of networking experience you told your parents you would acquire on a summer internship in NYC?

If partying late night in da club isn't exactly your style, you still have a chance to hang with 50 Cent this weekend!  This Saturday evening, 50 Cent is also scheduled to attend an exclusive charity event.  Not a bad move on his part.  The rapper (who has since apologized) could use some good karma after his despicable "attack"  towards a 19 year old, Andrew Farrell, an airport janitor that suffers from autism.

This Saturday, August 6, 2016, the charity event, "A Night Under The Stars" will take place at the Campbell Stables on West Pond Drive in Bridgehampton at 6pm.  The proceeds are set to benefit several worthy causes including:  Starkey Hearing FoundationThe Needlers Foundation & the Long Island Council on Alcoholism & Drug Dependence (LICADD).  The event founder is Jason Zimmerman who initially partnered with friend and Executive Director of the Starkey Hearing Foundation, Brady Forseth.  Other notable guests scheduled to attend include:  Dacha Polanco (Orange is the New Black) and Verne Troyer (“Mini Me”).

If you wanna party Friday night at AM Southampton with 50 Cent, you can buy tickets HERE.

Have You Heard Of The Artist M.I.A.?

No worries, some of us haven’t either… you may recognise her song, "Paper Planes.

Point is, according to the upcoming AFROPUNK festival, M.I.A. is out!

Yes, the self described “multi-cultural festival,” is dropping M.I.A because the artist was busy running her mouth about Beyoncé, in an interview with Evening Standard Magazine.

M.I.A. Said, "‘It’s interesting that in America the problem you’re allowed to talk about is Black Lives Matter. It’s not a new thing to me — it’s what Lauryn Hill was saying in the 1990s, or Public Enemy in the 1980s. Is Beyoncé or Kendrick Lamar going to say Muslim Lives Matter? Or Syrian Lives Matter? Or this kid in Pakistan matters? That’s a more interesting question. And you cannot ask it on a song that’s on Apple, you cannot ask it on an American TV program, you cannot create that tag on Twitter, Michelle Obama is not going to hump you back.’

Clearly M.I.A.’s statements were going to piss someone off.   Question is who?

Initially her nasty comments to Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar and African American community (#muslimlivesmatter) offended fans and the AFROPUNK Festival came to M.I.A’s rescue by officially stating: “M.I.A will still perform at AFROPUNK London, and there is a huge amount of UK/ global talent still to be announced. We hope that this event also brings to light the experience of black Brits, immigrants and refugees in the UK, who are continuously erased.”

Now, 3 months later AFROPUNK has decided to give her the boot! This Saturday AFROPUNK released a statement on their social media stating; “After discussing the situation with the artist and the community, a decision was agreed upon by all involved that M.I.A will no longer headline AFROPUNK London.”

Based on M.I.A.’s offensive comments to all lives, cultures and Beyoncé, we suspect she will have to do some major clean up, before she performs on this side of the pond anytime soon...

AFROPUNK Brooklyn, is August 27-28 and you can buy tickets here.

THE WANNA loves the idea of any multi-cultural event.  Bringing people together from all races and cultures— education is the key to a more peaceful world.

Treat others as you wish to be treated and remember #alllivesmatter

At a time, when Hip-Hop is king, Country is cool, and Pop is a princess, real Rock & Roll might as well be the ugly step-sister.

Those days of stepping out in the East Village, to find a rock band performing live at a legendary venue on every corner, are long gone.  Both the venue and the bands are no where to be found.  Rock and roll institutions have been replaced by international clothing chains and drug store theme parks.

Yet, just when the future of rock appears bleak, one underground band surfaces with a new album, that injects a powerful surge of hope and inspiration into the world of music.

The New York, Bronx born band, SWEET CYANIDE released a new album today, SONGS FROM THE STARDUST ROAD.  Thirteen tracks, written and composed by SWEET CYANIDE’s front man, Sal Scoca.  The album is coming off of their 2012 rock radio hit, "IN MY WORLD" and 2014 rock radio hit, "BETTER AT GOODBYES."

STARDUST ROAD is an unexpected yet, genius evolution from SWEET CYANIDE’S original aggressive, hard rock sound.  Each track on the new album delivers a distinctive mix of inventive electric modernity, layered between daringly clever lyrics that all culminate into a unique rock experience.

STARDUST ROAD, has the power to change the way the world emotionally digests a group of songs released together at the same time, by offering fans a few different ways to experience the album.

Each song can stand alone as it’s own distinctive sound and experience.  Yet, if you listen closely to the lyrics from beginning to end, each track seamlessly flows from one scene to the next, ultimately revealing a captivating character and raw storyline.  But, make no mistake, the whole is not greater then the sum of it’s parts.  Just different.

The multi-level experience that STARDUST ROAD delivers fans, is what industry insiders would refer to as a, “concept album.”  The concept may have a thematic unity or artistic cohesiveness.  The group of songs may be unified by a theme, which can be instrumental, compositional, narrative, or lyrical.

Most rock historians agree, the first concept album was by the Beatles' in 1967;  Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Other famous concept albums include:  The Who's Tommy in 1969, Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon in 1973 and the Eagles' Hotel California in 1977.

Setting out to create a concept album is quite ambitious.  Writing a successful song is hard enough.  Now, imagine trying to create thirteen individual songs that offer double the pleasure?  Seems almost impossible to pull off.

Seems impossible, but Scoca pulled it off.  STARDUST ROAD is a successful concept album.

Yet, when we asked Scoca to share the concept, he said, “I don’t want the concept to over power or influence how someone interprets the sound.  The storyline is not up in your face.  It’s suggested.  Abstract enough so the listener still has the room to think and create a personal connection.  I guess when you create a concept that is the risk you take.”

It’s a risk that paid off for Scoca.  Tracks like New Illusions and Zero Hour are epic hits on their own and when you listen to the entire album, they weave an intense thought provoking story, that delivers both musically and lyrically.

Scoca said while he was in the trenches of creating the album he was listening to a lot of music from the late 70’s and early 80’s, “I kept going back and forth listening to Hall and Oates, Peter Gabriel and Bowie.”

Sal also revealed, “Initially the concept of the album was inspired by Ziggy Stardust.  I always wondered to myself, what ever happened to Ziggy?  What if Ziggy was resurrected now, in the year 2016?  A time where the majority of society is obsessed with celebrities, fame and selfies.  Basically exploring the concept of…Are you chasing the dream or is the dream chasing you?”

You can form your own opinion and download the album which premieres on ITUNES today.

You can also experience the album live.  SWEET CYANIDE plans to make their annual pilgrimage cross-country from NYC to South Dakota.  The band will be performing live on the main-stage at the 76th annual Sturgis Buffalo Chip Music Festival.  Sturgis is a real tradition for the band.  Past years SWEET CYANDIE has performed live and shared center-stage with Alice Cooper, Def Leppard, Cheap Trick, Five Finger Death Punch, and Motley Crue.  This year, Friday, August 12, 2016, the band will be performing live with Pop Evil and Buckcherry.  You can buy SWEET CYANIDE LIVE @ STURGIS tickets HERE.

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler recently phoned in to Howard Stern’s radio show to promote his new solo album.  The album is titled, “We’re All Somebody From Somewhere.”  The album features singles, “Love Is Your Name,” and “Red White and You.”  Tyler’s album is set for release on July 15th.

Stern got Tyler talking about recent Aerosmith break-up rumors.  Eventually, Tyler revealed to Stern, “We’re doing a farewell tour, but only because it’s time.”  Tyler’s remark was met with audible gasps from Stern and crew.

Although it’s been in the headlines all week, Tyler never actually stated that the farewell tour meant the band is splitting up.  In fact, Tyler only had good things to say about his band mates.  Tyler told Stern, “I love this band, I really do.  I want to squash every thought that anybody might have about this, that the band’s over.”  When asked how long the farewell tour could last, Tyler responded, “Probably forever.”

You can listen to Tyler's radio interview with Howard Stern here.

THE WANNA Show recently interviewed Steven Tyler about his charity, Janie's Fund.  Be sure to check out the video here.

Steven Tyler, Janie's Fund

Aerosmith front man, Steven Tyler has a lot to celebrate this Father’s Day!  He is a proud Grandpa twice over to Milo and Sailor.  A Dad to four children.  Son Taj.  Daughter’s Mia, Chelsea and Liv who is pregnant with her third child and due to give birth later this summer.  Yet, this Father’s Day is even more special for Tyler.  He is also a proud father figure to thousands of young girls!

Tyler is the founder of a successful philanthropic initiative, Janie’s Fund.  The fund benefits Youth Villages, which is a national organization that provides services to help young girls overcome serious neglect and abuse.  Tyler gives a lot more to Janie’s Fund then just his name.

Recently, Janie’s Fund chose several young girls, who are current members of the Youth Villages organization from Tennessee, to go on a special trip to NYC!   These lucky ladies attended an exclusive event at Lavo restaurant and nightclub on E. 58th street, in midtown Manhattan.  The event honored Tyler and Janie’s Fund.  The evening was generously hosted by Dujour Magazine and CEO, Jason Binn.

Tyler made a grand entrance into the event. The rocker arrived in his beloved car, a Hennessy Venom GT.  Tyler stopped traffic when hundreds of photographers and fans gathered around him to catch a glimpse.  Tyler officially announced his “baby” is up for auction and all the proceeds will benefit Janie’s Fund.  You can bid on Tyler's car by clicking on this link HERE!

THE WANNA host, Gina Glickman Giordan, had the opportunity to interview Tyler one on one at the recent event.  The Hall of Fame inductee talked to THE WANNA about giving back and revealed how he honors his own father, Victor Tallarico, on Father's Day.

This past Monday evening, pop star and longtime LGBT activist, Lady Gaga joined thousands of mourners in Los Angeles at City Hall, honoring the victims of the Pulse nightclub tragedy.

The iconic and outspoken performer gave an emotional speech and read off each of the names of the victims, while she fought back tears.  Gaga directed her words at the entire LGBT community and said, “I hope you know that myself and so many are your allies. Not only me, but everyone here. We represent the compassion and the loyalty of millions of people around the world that believe in you. You are not alone, you are not alone.”

It’s no surprise to Gaga fans that she came out to support.  She’s been a long-standing advocate for the LGBT community for years.

In 2009, Gaga appeared on the cover of Out magazine and she used the cover interview as an opportunity to discuss her stance on LGBT culture.  Gaga revealed, “I very much want to inject gay culture into the mainstream.  It's not an underground tool for me. It's my whole life. So, I always sort of joke the real motivation is to just turn the world gay.”

In 2012, she created a video message and addressed Maine, Minnesota, Washington, and Maryland about the vote for marriage equality.  She says in the clip, “I just wanted to remind those of you who live in Maine, Minnesota, Washington, or Maryland that you can actually vote for marriage equality on the ballot this year,” using her fame as a popular musician to get the word out.  Check out the video here:

When the U.S. Supreme Court passed marriage equality in 2012, Gaga took to Twitter with a photo and captioned it, “#Lovewins over prejudice.”

Gaga's Grammy nominated song, “Born This Way,” sends clear messages of acceptance and appreciation for the LGBT community.  “Born This Way” was the first top hit on Billboard charts to include the word “transgenders” in the lyrics.

In March 2011, the pop star made a deal with Target stores in which she would only allow them an exclusive release of the Born This Way album if they ended dealings with anti-gay groups, and contributed to LGBT charities.  She stated, "Part of my deal with Target is that they have to start affiliating themselves with LGBT charity groups and begin to reform and make amends for the mistakes they've made in the past ... our relationship is hinged upon their reform in the company to support the gay community and to redeem the mistakes they've made supporting those [antigay] groups."

Grace VanderWaal AGT Pre-Audition

Grace VanderWaal AGT Pre-Audition

Earlier this week, a stunned 12-year-old girl from Seffren NY, Grace VanderWaal, took a deep breath and slowly walked onto the stage for her big moment to wow the judges; Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Mel B and Howie Mandel on NBC's 11th season of, America’s Got Talent.  VanderWaal was sporting a blunt bob, bright yellow jeans with a classic ukulele wrapped around her back.

VanderWaal, appeared to be a typical cute, bit shy, young lady but, no-one would have guessed she was about to steal the show!

Once the Judges started to question VanderWaal, they were the ones who were shocked. VanderWaal portrayed an air of maturity and poise about her that was well beyond her twelve years of life.

Just before VanderWaal performed live, Cowell asked, “Do you believe that you can win?” VanderWaal replied, “I mean; miracles can happen. So, possibly!”  As soon as Grace started to sing and strum her ukulele the crowd was in awe.

Before VanderWaal finished the memorable audition the audience was on their feet with a standing ovation. Mandel had a huge smile on his face and told Grace, “You are a living, beautiful, walking miracle. I think the world is gonna your name.”  Then suddenly, Mandel hit the coveted golden buzzer, which took VanderWaal straight through to the “Live Shows.”  As VanderWaal stood their in shock she was showered with gold confetti and an adoring crowd. Cowell went on to tell VanderWaal she was “The Next Taylor Swift.”  Colin may not be far off!  At Grace’s age, Swift had just started to write her own songs and at 16 she released her debut album. VanderWaal just may be following in Taylor’s footsteps!

Here are 5 Reasons why Grace VanderWaal may be the next Taylor Swift...

Grace is an overnight internet sensation! Just after her AGT Audition aired, VanderWaal’s YouTube channel jumped to 42k subscribers.  Vanderwaal's Twitter account gained 25k followers in the past few days and her Instagram account is almost 50k followers!  Even Rolling Stone contacted Ms. Vanderwaal for an exclusive interview!

Post AGT performance, Mandel told Grace, "I think we found the biggest star in America’s Got Talent history."  NBC posted Grace's AGT audition and the video has already received more than 2 million views!

THE WANNA SHOW will watch the AGT live finals to see if VanderWaal can follow up and win it all!  Will you be watching?
